ON THE AFTRA PRIMETIME TV CONTRACT | ||

The new AFTRA contract puts REAL money in actors' wallets. The pay increases that AFTRA negotiated in the new agreement are higher than what AFTRA and SAG achieved together in 2005. The new contract includes:
AFTRA, like the WGA and DGA before it, has negotiated a solid agreement that delivers substantial improvements in wages and working conditions for all members. We've done this in the midst of a challenging economic climate, at a moment of rapid and unsettling technological change, and in an industry that is still recovering from the economic devastation of a 100-day strike. A decision to strike should not be taken lightly. AFTRA has called strikes when they are warranted. AFTRA members have already bargained smart and hard to extract the solid gains for actors that are secured in the new deal. Employers don't give more just because we "ask." Don't be fooled. A "No" vote does mean No. The people who claim you can win a better deal without a real commitment to strike are not telling the truth.
