LABOR ON THE LINE:
After eleven months of demanding equal pay for equal work, the service workers of AFSCME Local 3299 have reached an impasse in negotiations with UC, calling for a five day strike from July 14-18. Local 3299 is asking for support during the strike and to help them win a fair contract for UC Service Workers. Each day of the strike the workers will be picketing from 6 am until 6 p.m. at the UCSF Moffit-Long Hospital at 505 Parnassus - rallies are at 12 noon and 5 p.m. For more information contact the Alameda Labor Council Community Services Director Susan McDonough at (510) 632-4242 ext. 224
