NOMINATION AND ELECTION OF LOCAL OFFICERS & BOARD

This will serve as official notification of the forthcoming nominations and elections of the following AFTRA Denver Local Officers and Board:

                            Two (2) Free-Lance Board Members-at-Large 2-year term

The AFTRA Denver Local Constitution and By-Laws provides that nominations can be made by one of two methods:

Written Petition
The first shall be by written petition, setting forth the name of the candidate and signed by not less than fifteen (15) active members in good standing.* The petition must be filed with the AFTRA Denver office not later than 5:00 p.m. on May 6, 2008. Any such nominating petition shall be accompanied by a written statement signed by the person nominated stating that he/she accepts the nomination and consents to run for the office. Petitions are available at the AFTRA office and can be obtained by calling 720.932.8228 or by emailing Julie Crane at denver@aftra.com.

Nominations from the Floor
Nominations will also be accepted from the floor at the annual meeting. A member may not nominate him or herself. Any active member in good standing* may nominate a candidate. If a person, so nominated, will be absent from the meeting, a written statement signed by the person nominated must be submitted stating that he/she accepts the nomination. Said statement must be submitted prior to the nomination for that office in order for the person so nominated to be eligible for election. Persons nominated from the floor and present at the Semi-Annual Meeting shall verbally make their acceptance.

*A member is in good standing provided she/he is paid up in dues, initiation fees, assessments and fines as of the day of the nomination. Further, to be eligible as a candidate for any Local office, a member cannot be employed as management or perform the function of management within the jurisdiction of AFTRA.
