September 2008 Announcing Auditions for the 5th Annual As promised, the auditions for The 5th Annual Lend Me An Ear! are coming up on Monday, October 6, 2008, from 4PM to 8PM at the Atlanta AFTRA/SAG office. Every fall, AFTRA, SAG, and Equity voice talents gather together for a night of radio recreations as a fundraiser for the Atlanta Community Food Bank. This year’s theme is “Old Time Radio: Comedy Tonight!” The evening will include Blondie, direct from the funny papers; the low-key drollery of Easy Aces; the irreverence and intractability of The Henry Morgan Show; the pointed and absurd wittiness of The Fred Allen Show; The Bickersons, a sourly cynical take on the institution of marriage; and The Great Gildersleeve, one of radio’s earliest spin-off programs. Performers will need to be available for the following dates: Read-thru: 7PM Monday, October 13, 2008 at the New American Shakespeare Tavern at 499 Peachtree St. in Atlanta.
