New York Open Caucus on Non-Discrimination and Diversity

Wednesday, June 30, 2010 6:00 PM EST

ATTEND AN OPEN CAUCUS MEETING REGARDING THE POLICY OF NON-DISCRIMINATION AND DIVERSITY

AFTRA and SAG members are invited to attend a special contract caucus meeting to review AFTRA's Policy of Non-Discrimination/Affirmative Action in Exhibit A of the AFTRA Network Television Code and the Producer-Screen Actors Guild's Policy on Non-Discrimination and Diversity in the Codified Basic Agreement and the Television Agreement. The non-discrimination policies are mostly identical for both unions.

When:

Wednesday, June 30, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Where:

Leon Janney Board Room
Screen Actors Guild
360 Madison Avenue, 14th Floor
(Entrance on 45th Street, btwn. Fifth and Madison Avenues)
New York, NY 10017

All members who work the AFTRA Exhibit A and the SAG TV/Theatrical Contracts are invited to attend and participate. We especially encourage performers from protected categories to attend. It is necessary for the voices of women, seniors, performers of color, performers with disabilities and the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) communities to be heard.

This special meeting is open to all paid-up AFTRA and SAG members; participation is limited only by fire department regulations. Please bring your membership card.

For ADA accommodations, please make your request by June 22 to diversity@aftra.com or diversity@sag.org.

E-mail Suggestions: Can't make it to the committee meeting? You can still play an active part by emailing your ideas to wandw2010@aftra.com or wandw2010@sag.org. Recommendations must be received by August 6.

You may also submit your ideas through the on-site suggestion boxes at AFTRA and SAG: AFTRA members may use the suggestion box available in the 7th Floor Membership Department at the AFTRA office at 260 Madison Avenue. SAG members may use the suggestion box available in the Committees office on the 12th floor of SAG's New York office, 360 Madison Avenue, in New York.

Your participation is vital to a contract negotiation responsive to the working members. Thank you for your time.

Dates and times subject to change. Notice will be given of any changes.
